In Level 2 the way that hospitality operates will be different, but the glorious days of being able to catch up with a friend over coffee at a place that isn't your house will be here. Take this opportunity to travel outside your local area, and to try some of the best brunch spots that Auckland has to offer.

Whenever I'm asked where to go on a Saturday or Sunday morning these are my top picks; put them on your post-lockdown list!!!

HEMI EATERY

Auckland Central

A relatively new opening, with a fully customisable menu that is insanely good value for money. It's brunch menu is pretty healthy (but not in a gross raw vegan date slice kinda way), and the ability to easily build your own breakie is a blessing.

BESTIE

K Rd

Located in St Kevin's arcade and insanely popular on a weekend morning. The views from the dining area are beautiful on a sunny Auckland day and there is something about the casual service, food and setting that makes it super relaxing. Their cabinet food is comfort food done right and their menu is just the right amount of creative. The coffee is delicious.

OZONE COFFEE ROASTERS

Grey Lynn

Seriously good coffee and a huge menu to choose from, Ozone is a cafe that resembles an institution. The space is big and open (so social distancing is very possible), the staff are always lovely and it has a cool vibe.

MAJOR SPROUT

Auckland Central

Serves Ozone coffee, which is seriously good, and has a wide range of options to choose from. The brunches are huge and always taste amazing. Also, you can scan a QR code on the menu and see images for each menu item; this is very helpful in navigating the best of a huge number of delicious sounding options.
