Fave Cafes in Winter 2020

As I write this we are in Level 3 Lockdown, yet again! I thought now would be the perfect time to take stock and jot down the best cafes I've been to in the last couple of months .

East Auckland Fave: Farmhouse

Auckland Fave: Flour Mill

Lunch Fave: Melba

Fave Spot to Study: Ampersand

EAST AUCKLAND

Cre.ate Cafe - Howick

So many great brunch/lunch options, and the loveliest service

Grab the avo on toast, and an Ozone coffee!

Farmhouse - Clevedon

Primo spot in the sunshine. Amazing cabinet food, super friendly staff

Do yourself a favour and get a savoury brioche and pink bun, and head for a walk around the dog walk track afterwards!

Khaos Cakery - Howick

Blimmin good sweet treats and stellar Allpress coffee

Get a sweet slice and an iced mocha!

King's Plant Barn Cafe - Howick

Very nice interior and lovely selection of cabinet goodies

Get a cheese scone and a coffee!

Lola - Mt Wellington

Super good cabinet and a really big and variable menu

Get a cheese scone!

Melba - Manukau

The best cafe service out East, and potentially the best menu items too

Get the honey garlic chicken salad!

CENTRAL AUCKLAND

Amano Bakery - Britomart

Super gourmet, really reasonable and yummy baked options and simple breakfasts

Order freshly baked bread with spreads!

Ampersand - Orakei

Not a huge fan of their menu, but they do great baking and have a yum range of teas; perfect spot to study for an hour or two

Get the date and maple scone and a Paris tea!

Best Ugly Bagels - City Works Depot

The nicest bagels, with such a good range of delicious options, sweet and savoury

Get the T.A.B or the Chickaboom and an Iced Maple Coffee!

Bowl and Arrow - Orakei

Healthy, fresh and fruity. You haven't had a decent smoothie bowl until you've tried Bowl and Arrow

Get the Brazilian or the Sweetie Pie

Flour Mill - Epsom

Absolutely delicious cabinet options and the cutest spot to sit in the sunshine

Get a wrap from the cabinet and a hot drink (they come with homemade marshmallows mmmm)!

Hero Sandwich House - Eden Terrace

Delicious (huge) gourmet sammies that come with chippies

Get the CBJ sammie!

La Petite Fourchette - Britomart

Holy moly, the best French bakery out

Get the choc hazelnut cookie!

Hopefully heading into Spring our movements will be less restricted and there will be plenty of opportunities for visiting many new cafes!
