Where to eat in Dunedin

Dunedin has a reputation for being a place of drinking and not much else. In actual fact though, there are a huge number of delish eateries that are so well frequented by many!

Esplanade

Located on the beachfront this spot has amazing views and super cool decor. An Italian restaurant by night, they also do a full brunch menu and have super good coffee too! Quite expensive, so save this for when you feel like a boujee brunch out!

Heritage Coffee

An absolute gem for cabinet food and coffee. The scones are particularly outstanding, probably the best I've ever had; huge and delicious (probably the size of my hand lol). Also the coffee is outstanding and they have a very cool outdoor area if you're visiting while the sunshine is out.

Left to right; mocha, latte and sweet scone, hazelnut butter and jam bagel, lemon + white choc + poppyseed sweet cone

Beam Me Up Bagels

Even better than Best Ugly Bagels, this place has cult like status among students. With two locations and a huge menu there is absolutely no excuse to not give them a try. They also do a decent coffee too!

Kiki Beware

We stumbled across this place as we were after a late lunch and not many places in Dunedin Central are open after 2:30pm. Kiki does the meanest sammies, the Special was absolutely amazing and the vibe is super chilled! Highly recommend!!!

Here are some places that I didn't get to, but that were highly recommended by trustworthy sources; Dispensary (salads), Kind Grocer (healthy foods), Bay Road (peanut butter on toast), Good Good (burgers), Vogel St Kitchen (cafe food) and Long Dog (cafe food).

Would love to know your faves in Dunedin! Can't wait to come back sometime soon.
